Workshop at MacCity Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at MacCity, you can learn something new by taking a free Apple workshop. They’re taught by people who really know Apple products and are eager to share their knowledge with you. So count on picking up plenty of tips and tricks.

Take a workshop, and you can learn the basics of your new Mac or iPod. Or find out how to record your own podcasts with GarageBand, watch movies using Apple TV, or create a website with iWeb.

Serious photographers, filmmakers, and musicians will even find workshops on our powerful pro applications.

Whether you sign up in advance or drop in, you’ll have a great time and learn new skills.

Switching to a Mac		Getting Started with a Mac
Switching to a Mac? This is a great place to start. In this workshop, we'll familiarize you with the Mac operating system and show you how to accomlish on a Mac what you used to do on a Windows PC. We'll also dispel common myths, show you how Windows applications like Microsoft Excel and Word work on a Mac, and answer any questions you may have.		If you have a new Mac or you're thinking about getting one, this is the workshop for you. You'll see how easy it is to work and play on a Mac as we take you through the basics. That includes setting up your Mac, organize and search for files, connecting it to the Internet, sending email, and setting up a a printer.

iLife Basics
Come to the iLife '08 workshop and discover how much you can do with our impressive collection of digital lifestyle applications. You'll see how easy it is to organize and edit photos in iPhoto, create amazing home movies with iMovie, burn your own DVDs using iDVD, record music and create podcasts with GarageBand, and share it all with friends and family.

You'll learn new ways to make your photos look their best with professional-quality image adjustment tools. We'll also show you how to create impressive prints, photo books, calendars, and cards - all with your own photos.		It's easier than ever to make movies using iMovie '08. We'll show you how to store and organize all your video in a library, so it's easy to find clips for new movie projects. To maek a movie, simply drag the clips you want to use to the project windows. GarageBand puts an entire recording studio right on your Mac, and you can use it to record, edit, and mix a song exactly how you want it. We'll show you how to compose a song with loops, beats, live instruments, and vocals. No music experience required. We'll even show how you can use Magic GarageBand to generate a song for you. You pick the genre and performance style. GarageBand does the rest.		iTunes is the best digital jukebox for Mac and Windows. We'll show you how to use iTUnes to import and organize your music, find a song or artist instantly, create playlists, burn them to CDs, and sync your music to an iPod or Apple TV. The iTunes Store lets you buy music, music videos, TV shows, movies or audiobooks - even rent movies. And with iPod, you can take it all with you wherever you go.

iWeb makes it easy to create impressive websites and blogs - complete with podcasts, photos, and movies - and get them online fast. With iWeb and a Mac, you have everything you need to create your own space on the web.		Podcasting is a great way to communicate with other people who share your interests. And it's fun and easy to create professional podcasts on a Mac. In this workshop, you'll learn all about podcasting and how to create your own podcasts using GarageBand. We'll also show you how to use the podcast templates in iWeb to publish your podcasts on the web.
